This fall we're crowd-sourcing our vision as a way of orienting our path for the next leg of the journey. Compass will be a season of weekly feedback (in person and online) from anyone whom identifies as a part of Collective (Sunday night, community groups, Sunday Soul Brunch, online community, youtube channel and podcast subscribers, downtown partners and business owners, social media communities and you!) and would invest some time and intentional reflection in helping us shape a meaningful future.
Simply respond weekly to the open ended questions below. We'll accept feedback this week between Sunday and Thursday. Then we'll publish the summarized findings by next Sunday. Each week's feedback will shape and hone the questions and the process in the following weeks.
This is participatory. We can't do this without you.
What we asked:
When was Collective at its best (and circumstances surrounding that time)?
What do you value most?
What are Collective's core strengths?
What you said:
Above is the wordle made up of all the processed feedback from week 2.
We are a misfit faith community that gathers in DeLand on Sundays at 5pm. Come as you are.
We value highly the metaphor of journey. We’re different people from different places and backgrounds, representing an intergenerational community, and we’ve traveled different paths. So, we agree not to make assumptions about the person across from us, next to us, or in conversation with us. We challenge ourselves to be sensitive, knowing this community includes a diverse group of people from life-long followers of Jesus, to people who are just now open to the idea that God might exist. We strive to avoid offense, ask good questions, articulate and explain our responses. We don’t assume fluency in bible, spirituality, or Church language, because we believe the message of Jesus is not for Christianity, but for humanity. So, we do everything in the spirit of love and grace.
