Knowledge & News
Thought provoking topics and series, necessary news and information.
On April 19th, in addition to child care (ages 0-5), we will begin offering kids programming during our Sunday night services for ages 6-11. This will be fun and interactive, with a values based focus worked into lots of play. This is a major undertaking and exciting new step for Collective. It not only means adding staff, and thereby extra-budgetary spending, but it means an added emphasis on the role of children in the Collective community, our services, and our shared life together. Though the lesson plans and topical values focus will shift with different seasons, series and weekly preparation, the following elements represent what will be standard for most Sunday nights at Collective Kids. WEEKLY ELEMENTS:
MEET MARCIA:
MEET THE TEAM: In addition to the strengths Marcia brings as the weekly teacher, she has the support of an amazing volunteer team of Collective educators. Sarah and Dave Joseph - educators at St. Barnabas Episcopal School, and Angela Young - Librarian at Citrus Grove Elementary, will help oversee Collective Kids and plan the seasonal emphases in cooperation with Marcia. HOW YOU CAN HELP: Thanks for asking! We do have some needs that you can help provide as we get ready to begin:
WHAT NOW?
And a special thanks to our devoted designer, Collective Kids branding mastermind, Clark Orr, for the beautiful new logo that perfectly captures the Collective Kids vibe.

Come as you are. Sundays at 5pm
We value highly the metaphor of journey. We’re different people from different places and backgrounds, representing an intergenerational community, and we’ve traveled different paths. So, we agree not to make assumptions about the person across from us, next to us, or in conversation with us. We challenge ourselves to be sensitive, knowing this community includes a diverse group of people from life-long followers of Jesus, to people who are just now open to the idea that God might exist. We strive to avoid offense, ask good questions, articulate and explain our responses. We don’t assume fluency in bible, spirituality, or Church language, because we believe the message of Jesus is not for Christianity, but for humanity. So, we do everything in the spirit of love and grace.
