But seriously, we are in the final countdown of the pledge drive to make our proposed 2017 budget. We'll get to the update in a moment, but the big news is this: We have been generously offered both a $500 Per Month Pledge Match, and a $5,000 Year End Giving Match for this final week of the pledge dive. This means that every pledge made this week will be doubled, up to $500 Per Month. And every one-time, year-end, gift will be doubled, up to $5,000. This will include any increases made to current pledges. So, If we take advantage of this, it would mean an additional $1,000 per month toward our budget, which gets us almost to the proposed budget goal. And, it would mean starting the year strong with $10,000 in the bank. This could be incredibly valuable as we anticipate such exciting things coming right out of the gate in 2017!
Here's the pledge drive update as we enter the final week. We've pledged $11,303 against the proposed $13,000 Per Month budget. Keep in mind though, that we are $500 closer with the match offer, we just need to pledge that as well. And, of we can hit the year end match as well, that money in the bank can help cover monthly budget needs as the year unfolds.
We have already crushed the number of pledges from last year by 14%, and this will only keep climbing as we keep pledging. Especially this week, no pledge is too small. Your $5 per month becomes $10, and that gets us even closer to a sustainable monthly budget.
We are so close! We can do this with your help!
We are a misfit faith community that gathers in DeLand on Sundays at 5pm. Come as you are.
We value highly the metaphor of journey. We’re different people from different places and backgrounds, representing an intergenerational community, and we’ve traveled different paths. So, we agree not to make assumptions about the person across from us, next to us, or in conversation with us. We challenge ourselves to be sensitive, knowing this community includes a diverse group of people from life-long followers of Jesus, to people who are just now open to the idea that God might exist. We strive to avoid offense, ask good questions, articulate and explain our responses. We don’t assume fluency in bible, spirituality, or Church language, because we believe the message of Jesus is not for Christianity, but for humanity. So, we do everything in the spirit of love and grace.
