Gus Dotson is an Environmental Studies major and Religious Studies minor at Stetson University, with an interest in environmental economics and policy. They are a sophomore who is looking for new perspectives on religion and how it interacts with society. They hope to learn the specifics of how to start and run a church and potentially start their own someday. In Gus’s spare time, they like to dance, write, walk, listen to music, and spend entirely too much time staring at the sky in a state of existential wonder. They are perpetually cold despite living in Florida and they are abnormally passionate about the classic play Cyrano de Bergerac.
Gus looks forward to meeting everyone this fall, getting involved with Collective Cares, and enhancing Collective’s ecology. |

Sundays at 5pm. Come as you are. All are welcome.
We value highly the metaphor of journey. We’re different people from different places and backgrounds, representing an intergenerational community, and we’ve traveled different paths. So, we agree not to make assumptions about the person across from us, next to us, or in conversation with us. We challenge ourselves to be sensitive, knowing this community includes a diverse group of people from life-long followers of Jesus, to people who are just now open to the idea that God might exist. We strive to avoid offense, ask good questions, articulate and explain our responses. We don’t assume fluency in bible, spirituality, or Church language, because we believe the message of Jesus is not for Christianity, but for humanity. So, we do everything in the spirit of love and grace.
