Mark and Tosh Watts did a brilliant Job of connecting the Pledge Drive with their own story, and challenging us each to do the same. Connect the reasons you find life and belonging with Collective, and connect that with your commitment to support and sustain this community, at whatever level you are willing and able. Watch the video update above, and grab the detailed report below.
We have one week left from last night to pledge the remaining budget, and we’re so close!
This week we got a generous pledge from First Methodist, as well as several new and recurring pledges from generous Collective folks, which helped to greatly reduce the gap. It’s important to note that the pledge from FUMC is not simply ongoing support. Though Collective began with support from FUMC, the district and FL conference of the Methodist Church. September first was the end of our three year time-line for Methodist funding support. This pledge FUMC has made for this year is over and above. They simply believe in what we’re doing and who we are, and they want to see us continue on. So, as always, we’re grateful for their vision that helped us get Collective started, and their generosity that continues to help sustain and support our future.
So, with their help and many others, we had a great week! We’ve pledged 84% of the budget. We have surpassed last years number of pledges by 20%. And we know there are more pledges and scheduled gifts to come. With 1 week left to go, we’re 84% of the way there, which means we’ve got 16% , a little under $1500 per month, still needed. |

Sundays at 5pm. Come as you are. All are welcome.
We value highly the metaphor of journey. We’re different people from different places and backgrounds, representing an intergenerational community, and we’ve traveled different paths. So, we agree not to make assumptions about the person across from us, next to us, or in conversation with us. We challenge ourselves to be sensitive, knowing this community includes a diverse group of people from life-long followers of Jesus, to people who are just now open to the idea that God might exist. We strive to avoid offense, ask good questions, articulate and explain our responses. We don’t assume fluency in bible, spirituality, or Church language, because we believe the message of Jesus is not for Christianity, but for humanity. So, we do everything in the spirit of love and grace.
