If you missed last night at Collective, or just want to refresh, reflect and join the conversation, the full service Live-Cast and edited Podcast are here for you. We hope they'll stimulate more than our individual thought and reflection, and will draw us more deeply into the conversation of the community. Rather than thinking of God as that which cures our desire - that which satisfies or fills a perceived void - this week we explored the possibility that God is precisely the one that cures us of the deception of satisfaction.
Perhaps it is God (or in the aftermath of God) who leaves us with the void, the ache, the desire for the sacred. We explored presence, absence and desire through word, music, meditation, silence, Eucharist and more. Be prepared not only to think through this, but to practice - to sit silently, contemplatively and reflectively. FYI - the video Live-Cast has the whole of the service, including all of the guided practice. The Podcast is just the sermon portion and a brief reflection that follows. If you'd like to most fully participate in this particular service, it would be best to grab a piece of your favorite chocolate for the minfdulness eating meditation. As always, the sermon and the service are the first word. The conversation continues in the words that follow. Add your contribution to our communal voice in the comments below. Come as you are. |

Sundays at 5pm. Come as you are. All are welcome.
We value highly the metaphor of journey. We’re different people from different places and backgrounds, representing an intergenerational community, and we’ve traveled different paths. So, we agree not to make assumptions about the person across from us, next to us, or in conversation with us. We challenge ourselves to be sensitive, knowing this community includes a diverse group of people from life-long followers of Jesus, to people who are just now open to the idea that God might exist. We strive to avoid offense, ask good questions, articulate and explain our responses. We don’t assume fluency in bible, spirituality, or Church language, because we believe the message of Jesus is not for Christianity, but for humanity. So, we do everything in the spirit of love and grace.
